Field of expertise:

The Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Ecological Problems (USRIEP) was established in 1971. Now it is the biggest research institute under the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine.
Key areas of the USRIEP's research activities are related to the environment protection, sustainable use of natural resources and environmental safety.
USRIEP has performed many local and international projects, in particular, Elaboration of programme on development and use of renewable energy sources in Kharkiv Oblast.
Recent and current international projects:
- TACIS project Strengthening regional capacity for industrial waste treatment and management in Ukraine. 1998-2000.
- FP6 project Black Sea Scientific Network. 2006-2009.
- INTAS project new methods of information treatment for management of water quality in river basins. 2005-2007.

Role in the project:
: USRIEP will be in charge of the report of current research within the Consortium and will organize a seminar, besides the kick-off meeting, where the state of current research about partners will be discussed. At the same time, will also contribute to the identification of present tools under research to assess the sustainability for the production.
Additionally, at the same as the rest of members of the Consortia will contribute to the collection of data related to biomass feedstock and biomass and bio-products production current research.
Besides, USRIEP will uptake the responsibility of developing publishable articles related to Biomass concerning issues.
Finally, USRIEP will contribute to the Consecution of the AQUATERRE Final Conference.
