Field of expertise: North Wales Mouldings (NWM) was recently founded in November 2006 and is currently trading at the above location its product range is split into three categories:- Architectural Mouldings - Plastic Picture Mouldings - Mirror Mouldings In the Architectural Mouldings the product range is split into two main substrates: MDF: In this manufacturing process, waste is generated during all the machining operations i.e. 1 – 3. This waste is in the form of fine dust, which is neither environmentally friendly nor easy to dispose of; normally the dust is compacted into small brickets, which can then be more readily destroyed by burning. Timber: In this manufacturing process the waste produced is in the form of wood shavings and sawdust and is relatively easy to dispose of by burning Plastic Picture & Mirror Mouldings The manufacture of Picture and Mirror frames from pre-manufactured extruded plastic mouldings involves the cutting of the mouldings to create the required frame size. This operation is undertaken on a Morso Machine. The waste produced is the ‘off cuts’ from the lengths of the moulding, these off cuts are normally re-ground to form plastic pellets for recycling, however, in some instances this is not possible and disposal is very difficult. |
