Field of expertise:

EUBIA, the European Biomass Industry Association, was established in 1996 as an international non profit association in Brussels, Belgium. It groups together market forces, technology providers, and knowledge centres, all of them active in the field of biomass.
Its main objective is to support the European biomass industries at all levels, promoting the use of biomass as an energy source, developing innovative bio-energy concepts and fostering international co-operation within the bio-energy field. In this respect, EUBIA has started major international co-operation activities with third countries such as China, Brazil, the Russian Federation, Latin American, Caribbean countries.
EUBIA has gained extensive experience in the bio-energy field through the coordination and participation to a number of high-level, international projects and promotion activities, including technical expertise and project dissemination (organization of workshops, seminars, media and press activities, training activities, development of e-tools etc).
Furthermore, EUBIA has built up a large network of contacts, all of them involved within the biomass sector.

Role in the project:
EUBIA will lead the WP 2 (Identification and mapping of best biomass sources for industrial use), coordinating the review of literature about current feedstock in order to qualify the potential of the biomass best resources.
Additionally, EUBIA will organize an open workshop related to European biomass feedstock availability and will carry out the final report of Best Biomass Sources.
Concerning to the Identification of Optimum LCA, EUBIA will contribute by supporting CEE in the Identification of Environmental Impact Schemes and also by supporting USC in the LCA Seminar Organisation.
Besides, EUBIA will uptake the responsibility of developing publishable articles related to Biomass concerning issues.
Finally, EUBIA will contribute to the Consecution of the AQUATERRE Final Conference.
