Procede Biomass BV was founded as a subsidiary of Procede Group, to provide specific research and consultancy services to industries and governments involved in market implementation of bioenergy systems. Activities of Procede Biomass are aimed at increasing the efficiency of bioenergy technologies, and lowering emissions and costs of operation. Procede Biomass is currently involved in various R&D projects, related to project identification, feasibility studies, market implementation as well as technology development.
Through the close interaction with Procede, about 30 highly skilled process engineers with a broad theoretical and practical experience, laboratories, skilled technicians and a well-equipped workshop are available to perform research and troubleshooting in R&D projects. Several professors at the University of Twente act as senior consultants to Procede. This close cooperation enables Procede Biomass to take up substantial process or reactor design projects with high professionals.
Examples of recent innovations are small scale CO2 capture in combination with biomass combustion, production of GTBE from glycerine, and combustion of biomass types with low ash melting point.
